Andy Samberg will host the 2013 Spirit Awards

A mere two weeks ago, the nominees were announced for the 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards. Today, it was announced that the host for the 28th annual Spirit Awards will be comedian Andy Samberg. Most famous for his tenure on the sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live, Samberg is an Emmy award-winning actor who recently starred in the Spirit Award nominated film, Celeste and Jesse Forever.

The 28th annual Spirit Awards will be held in a tent on the Santa Monica beach on Saturday, February 23, with the premiere broadcast airing later that evening at 10:00 pm ET/PT on IFC.
