William H. Macy Reveals on Twitter He’s Joined Mel Gibson Film
Fargo & Shameless star William H. Macy took to Twitter recently to announce he’s joined Mel Gibson in director Jean-François Richet upcoming film Blood Father. The film’s synopsis, as found on IMDB, reads, “An ex-con reunites with his estranged wayward 16-year old daughter to protect her from drug dealers who are trying to kill her.” Gibson, who plays the ex-con mentioned in the synopsis, has had trouble finding regular work lately despite his renown status (for some obvious reasons) having only appeared in Get the Gringo and Machete Kills since his alleged “comeback role” in the Jodie Foster-directed The Beaver.
The film’s director Richet has also not been very active in recent years. Since making his English-language debut in 2005’s Assault on Precinct 13, Richet’s only made two films (both in 2008) about French gangster Jacques Mesrine. Blood Father‘s writer has been more busy, with writings credits on both of the upcoming Hunger Games sequels, as well as rumored involvement in both Top Gun 2 and Bad Boys 3.
Blood Father is currently slated for release in 2015. See Macy’s tweet along with the full picture of him and Mel below:
