Well it looks like the rumors we reported were true, Coachella has announced a cruise ship festival named S.S. Coachella. Much like their landlocked festival in Indio, California this cruise festival will take place on two separate dates. Each trip departs from Fort Lauderdale, Flordia with the first festival at sea will heading to the Bahamas on December 16-19 and the second to Jamaica December 19-23rd.

The headliners for these cruises are; Pulp, Hot Chip, Yeasayer and Girl Talk. Some of the other bands that will perform are James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem (who will host a wine tasting), Z-Trip, Sleigh Bells, Grimes, Cloud Nothings, Simian Mobile Disco, !!! and more.

The cheapest ticket will be $500 per person (providing you have 4 guests) for an inside Stateroom which including the cabin, food and of course, the entertainment. Let the countdown begin, the first S.S. Coachella takes off 152 days from now.

If you ever doubted the power and influence that the music festival Coachella has, this should clear that up. The people behind Coachella can cause the whole indie music scene on the web to go crazy with a simple ambiguous message such as “Tuesday 6PM PDT”. That is the exact message they posted on their website yesterday and already the rumors are going wild.

The first rumor that is floating out there is that they will be moving the location of Coachella. A report by The Desert Sun says that the Goldenvoice officals have been thinking about moving Coachella about 8 miles from it’s current location (Empire Polo Club) in 2014. Apparently, the thought of moving the location has been considered since 2008.

This location move rumor makes sense as Coachella has been looking for ways to expand the festival. In order to keep up with the demand of tickets, which usually sell out within hours of going on sale, they expanded the festival to take place on two back-to-back weekends. And they still had no troubles selling out. In fact, they generated a gross of $47.3 million over the two festivals (the largest ever recorded for a single concert event). One cannot help but wonder if they had Coachella each month of the year if it could still sell out.

The second rumor is a bit more lavish than the first but some claim there is a good chance of it being true. According to the Los Angeles Times, sources say that Coachella could be starting up its own Coachella-themed cruise. Popular acts such as Weezer and 311 have done themed cruises so it would make sense that if a festival were to do it that Coachella would be the first. There is no word on prices yet but whatever they will be, they will likely sell out fast if history is any indication.

Lollapalooza 2012 lineup has been revealed with headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, Black Sabbath and Jack White set to rock Chicago’s Grant Park. While Lollapalooza will share The Black Keys with Coachella as headliners, there are a number of solid bands playing here that will not play at Coachella. Some the most notable bands that will not overlap are; The Walkmen, Passion Pit, Twin Shadow, Dum Dum Girls, Washed Out, The Temper Trap, Delta Spirit, Toro Y Moi, and Dr. Dog.

The lineup for this year’s Bonnaroo Festival located in Manchester, Tennessee has been announced. The headliners will cover a wide range of music lovers as Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Phish take the top honors.

There is no doubt that Bonnaroo’s 2012 lineup is amazing this year. The bill is full of some great artists including; Bon Iver, The Shins, Aziz Ansari, Fruit Bats, St. Vincent, The Avett Brothers, Alabama Shakes, tUnE-YarDs, Delta Spirit, Ben Folds Five, Feist, Skrillex, and Trampled By Turtles.

Sasquatch Music Festival returns to The Gorge in George Washington for the 11th time this coming Memorial Day weekend. Headliners of this year’s festival include Jack White, Beck, Bon Iver, and Pretty Lights.

Other acts that will be on the bill are; The Shins, Girl Talk, Feist, Purity Ring, St. Vincent, Spiritualized, The Walkmen, Mogwai, M. Ward, Portlandia Live, Explosions in the Sky, Deer Tick, and STRFKR.

Coachella just announced the lineup for its 2012 festival in Indio, California. The headliners are undeniably stacked; Black Keys (Friday), Radiohead (Saturday) and Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg (Sunday). As you probably know, 2012 Coachella Music Festival will be held over just one weekend but two, essentially creating two identical festivals back –to-back.

While the headliners are attention grabbers, the rest lineup is even more impressive. Some of my personal favorites are; M83, Neon Indian, Miike Snow, St. Vincent, At The Drive-In, The Weeknd, DJ Shadow, Justice, Calvin Harris, Real Estate, and Cat Power.
