Enter The Void
It is difficult to describe Enter The Void in words because of how visual the film is, it is more of an experience than it is a film. It will likely be unlike any other film you have ever seen. However, you should know going into it, it is not an easy film to watch. A long runtime of 161 minutes mostly comprised of incredibly vivid flashing colors and shot mostly in subjective camera (from the point of view of the main character) do not help the watchability. |

Black Swan
Darren Aronofsky does it again. If you thought a film about ballet could not possibly be entertaining, think again. Black Swan overcomes the hype that surrounds it, a difficult and rare feat. It is a seductively sophisticated film with many layers that transforms from innocent to darkness. |

Catfish
Reviewing documentaries in general is tough, not to mention a controversial one that is difficult to talk about without spoiling it. So this is my attempt. Catfish is a documentary about Nev, a New York dance photographer who meets someone on the social networking site, Facebook. Nev has two film makers ready to document his new relationship. Although, his first intentions were not to seek out a relationship, we must first back up a little. |

Cyrus
Cyrus is not quite the comedy the trailers have you believe it is. This indie film is much more than your typical John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill slapstick you are accustom to seeing in Judd Apatow films, it adds a touch of dark creepiness. Written and directed by upcoming indie superstar duo Mark and Jay Duplass, Cyrus takes cues from their previous films such as, The Puffy Chair and Baghead. In other words, it is wonderful. I would be lying if I said I was not excited when it was announced they were doing this film. |

Greenberg
Defining what Greenberg is can be quite difficult. It is a romantic comedy without the romance and comedy. The film does so by removing the typical cheesy gimmicks as it presents itself in a more real life way. There is humor in everyday situations, as this film shows, that are not meant to be funny but to someone watching, it is. |

Wonderful World
Wonderful World is an indie drama that stars Matthew Broderick in a role that is not what most people are used to seeing him in. It’s a directorial debut for Joshua Goldin but it is not the first time Goldin and Broderick have a film in common with one another. Goldin wrote Out on a Limb which Broderick stared in. This film is not the most put-together film but the writing seemed solid. Maybe Goldin should stick to writing. |

Cashback
The storyline of Cashback is nothing unique; an art student named Ben has a falling out with a longtime girlfriend and is devastated. Still, Cashback is a smart and funny indie film that nearly everyone can relate to. Also the camera work is impressive enough to make the story that has been told a thousand times, interesting. |

Up In the Air
Up In The Air has an all-star cast which received three Oscar nominations of the six total for the film, including Best Picture. Often times humorous and other times emotional, it features quick and witty dialogue with a unique storyline. That being said, it also does have its flaws. |
