But something felt wrong from the beginning, and it only got worse. At the very least, I knew that my emotions were being manipulated more than a convincing thesis was being explored. Of the several positive reviews I read, this one by Gary Garrison really nails the problems I had with the film and I think that he is being generous in giving it 5/10. To call this a “climate change” film is a serious mis-direction, especially given the non-climate significance of many of the regional stories. And I found Ms. Klein’s catchy, gratuitous dismissal of the plight of polar bears as “boring” to have been especially insulting. Naomi Klein and Avi Lewis can do a much better, more focused, more honest effort than this muddled, anti-capitalist screed.
