I’ve yet to see this mentioned that this film felt like a complete copy
of Abbas Kiarostami’s film ‘Ten’ – a film of random people getting
picked up & driven around one after another. There’s a cute niece
here in Taxi, just as there was an adorable nephew in Ten. Of course,
there’s the added layer here of Panahi fighting the restrictions (while
not exactly humble or subtle), but I watched through that cloudy lens
seeing a near-duplicate of a film made in 2002.
