Although I wouldn’t simply call everything on this list “country.” Margo Price and Jimmy Swope are some other modern legitimate acts. Actually that’s probably been the biggest with country since in the 90s: people not distinguishing country pop and country rock from legitimate country. I mean, you wouldn’t put Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams, or Loretta Lynn in the same category as Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, or Brooks & Dunn, now would you? Well, I’m not sayin any of those are bad, but it’s not the same kind of music. That would be like calling Rihanna and Wyclef Jean Reggae! Again, nice list.
